After nearly a decade, Fortnite now follow the popular Gangnam Style trend

Although this worldwide hit song has been out for nearly a decade, it has not stopped Fortnite from bringing the famous horse dance into the game emoji. Better late than never.

When it first launched in 2017, Fortnite quickly turned crazy the battle royale game genre. And back to 5 years earlier, PSY’s Gangnam Style did the same thing with the world music scene. Now, the two giants will begin to work together to bring the legendary horse dance as an emoji in the game.

There are many similarities in the journey to become the world’s famous of Fortnite and Gangnam Style. In just a year after its release, Fortnite was able to boast over 100 million players, a number that not any major game title can do in such a short time. Meanwhile, Gangnam Style – a Korean song has increased its views on Youtube after only a few months of being posted. Even the singer of the song, PSY, does not understand for what reason that his song has become a global phenomenon. Along with that, the dance moves of Fortnite and Gangnam Style have many similarities that make the upcoming collaboration of the two quite reasonable and expected by fans.

A short video in which the game’s characters perform horse dance was posted on the official Twitter of Korea (South Korea) Fortnite, announcing this late collaboration. Then North America Fortnite retweeted the video, stated that this icon dance move will appear not only in Korea but in all versions the game worldwide.

Majority of the gaming community has a pretty positive attitude, but there are some people who really don’t recognize the horse dance. Objectively speaking, Gangnam Style‘s horse dance is surprisingly consistent with the Fortnite spirit, but so far, this song is nearly 10 years old, no longer “storming” like in 2012. Moreover, the age of Fortnite players today is between 18 and 24 (figures in 2021), so when people see this dance in the game, people see childhood nostalgia more than a new thing.

It’s also quite surprising that a 4-year-old game is trying to bring a song that is almost 10 years old like Gangnam Style. However, this is still considered a perfect combination.
